Enlarge Trient 3325 m
Rising to a height of 3,300 metres, the drop-off point for the Trient Glacier is on the Col des Plines to the south of the Trient refuge.

The small Trient massif is markedly different to other areas of Valais with its sheer faces of granite like those of Chamonix.
The French border and the Chamonix valley are but a 30-minute hike from the Col des Plines.

The heli-skiing in the Trient massif offers a panoply of outstanding descents of all ranges of difficulty and there are some good skinning options, recommended for those who want to discover less-frequented itineraries.

The standard descents are from the Val d’Arpette to the village of Champex via the Col des Ecandies, from the Saleinaz Glacier to the village of Praz de Fort and the one finishing in the Chamonix valley via the Col du Tour.
The magnificent runs down the Trient glacier and the Orny bowl are also great classics.
For fans of steep and extreme faces the Arpettes corridors will, without a doubt, tick all the boxes of those who love it vertical.

The presence of a mountain guide is compulsory for heli-skiing.
